PAPER INSTALLATION AND USE
This chapter describesinstructionsfor printing suchas selectingpaper types,
iidjustingthe printing gap, and installing paper.
SELECTION OF PAPER
Your printer accepts any of the following types of paper:
Single sheets (cut forms) and stationary
Use the friction feed or the optional Automatic Sheet Feeder.
Fanfold forms
Fanfold forms have holes along the sides and perforations between
the sheets. They are also called sprocket forms, continuousforms, or
just plain “computer paper”.
Printing onor nearthe perforations ofcontinuous fanfold forms may
reduce printing quality, misalign the fanfold forms, or cause a paper
jam.
Multi-part forms
You can usemulti-part formsthathave upto threepartsincludingthe
original. It isrecommended that you loadmulti-part forms usingthe
bottom feed slot with the optional Pull Tractor Unit.
Use pressure sensitive multi-part forms with both side edges glued
and a difference in thickness of 0.05mm or less between the side
edges.
Labels
When printing labels, always select the type mounted on a continu-
ous backing sheet with sprocket holes for use with a tractor.
Do not try to print labels as cut forms because labels on a shiny
backing sheet almost always slip a little.
It isrecommended thatyou loadlabelsfrom the bottom feed slotwith
the optional Pull Tractor Unit.
