codeinsertion,andhorizontalandframetimingpulses.
–Generateshorizontalandverticalsynchronizationandblankingsignalsandaframesynchronization
signal.
•TCIcapturemode:Transportchannelinterface(TCI)fromafront-enddevice(suchasdemodulator)or
aforwarderrorcorrectiondevicein8-bitparallelformatatupto30Mbytes/sec.
•TheportgeneratesuptothreeeventsperchannelinBT656andY/CMode,oneeventperchannelin
RAWandTCImodeandoneinterrupttotheDSP.

andB.Youcansplita5120-bytecapture/displaybufferbetweenthetwochannels.Theentireport(both
channels)isalwaysconfiguredforeithervideocaptureordisplayonly.Separatedatapipelinescontrolthe
parsingandformattingofvideocaptureordisplaydataforeachoftheBT.656,Y/C,rawvideo,andTCI
modes.
Forvideocaptureoperation,thevideoportmayoperateastwo8-bitchannelsofBT.656orrawvideo
capture;orasasinglechannelof8-bitBT.656,8-bitrawvideo,8-bitY/Cvideo,16-bitrawvideo,or8-bit
TCI.
Forvideodisplayoperation,thevideoportmayoperateasasinglechannelof8-bitBT.656,8-bitraw
video,8-bitY/Cvideo,or16-bitrawvideo.Itmayalsooperateinatwochannel8-bitrawmodeinwhich
thetwochannelsarelockedtothesametiming.ChannelBisnotusedduringsinglechanneloperation.
ItisimportanttonotethattheVideoPortDatapinnumberingiscompatiblewithTMS320DM642DSP
chip.Incaseofa8-bitchannelthesuffixesforthedatapinsarementionedasVDOUT[9-2]for
display/outputportandVDIN[9-2]forcapture/inputport.Incaseofa16-bitchannelthesuffixesforthedata
pinsarementionedasVDOUT[19-2]fordisplay/outputportandVDIN[19-2]forcapture/inputport.
