TROUBLESHOOTING
Trouble
“DIALING” or
“COMMUNICATING” is not
displayed even if the
key
is pressed in Direct
Transmission Mode.
Originals are fed diagonally
(skewed).
Two originals are fed together.
The original is not being printed
on the paper of the remote FAX
even though it is being sent.
Originals are not sent even if
operations are carried out
normally.
Cannot send overseas
Transmission Trouble
Check the following points if you are having trouble sending originals. If you cannot rectify the trouble by
checking these points, or trouble not listed below occurs, contact your service representative.
Check Point
Did you press the
key before beginning the Direct TX operation?
Did you replace the handset before you pressed the
key?
When you are making a call using a handset to send a FAX, do not
replace the handset until after you press the
key and you hear
the phone line switch to the machine.
Is the modular cord disconnected?
Is the dial type set correctly?
Can you receive telephone calls?
Is there any problem at the remote fax? Check this with the party
trying receive the original.
• Are the slides adjusted to the width of the original that you are
sending?
Does the original meet the conditions established for use with this
device? (See page 2-4 of the Operator’s manual for Copying function.)
Have you placed more than 50 sheets of Letter (A4-size) paper on
the ADF or 100 sheets of Letter (A4-size) paper on the RADF? (50
or 100 is the maximum number of originals that can be placed at
one time.)
Does the original meet the conditions established for use with this
device? (See page 2-4 “Originals” of the operator’s manual for
Copying function.)
Have you pushed in the originals too hard?
Is the original placed facing the correct way?
Is the remote FAX compatible with your copier?
This copier supports G3 communications but not G4 communica-
tions.
Specify Low Speed TX and resend. (
See page 3-6.)
