4. Remove the hard drive(s)/SSD(s).
Steps
1. Disconnect the power cable from the hard drive/SSD backplane.
2. Loosen the retention screws securing the hard drive/SSD backplane to the hard drive/SSD cage.
3. Lift the hard drive/SSD backplane by its edges until the retention screws disengage from the screw
holes on the hard drive/SSD cage.
4. Remove the hard drive/SSD cage. See Removing the hard drive/SSD cage.
5. Loosen the retention screws securing the hard-drive/SSD backplane cable connector to the system
board connector.
6. Lift the backplane away from the system.
