Image Sensor
Calibration
The precise location of the image sensor (camera) relative to the
printheads is critical for edge-to-edge printing on rigid cut-sheet
media. The Image Sensor Calibration determines this distance
with precision.
Run this calibration after installing the printer for the first time,
and whenever the camera height is changed (Setting the Cam-
era Height on page 5-15) or the camera is replaced.
To calibrate the location of the image sensor:
1. Load media.
Load enough media (either roll-fed or cut-sheet) to print the
small calibration pattern.
2. On the Front Page screen, press the (Menu) key to enter
the menu system.
3. From the control panel menu, press the ) key repeatedly to
highlight Service Printer.
4. Press the (Menu In) key.
5. From the Service Printer menu, press the ) key repeatedly
until Image Sensor Calibration is highlighted.
6. Press the (Menu In) key.
7. Press the
" key to begin the calibration.
The calibration runs with no further action from you.
8. After the calibration completes, load or reload media and
begin printing.
