5-10 Cleaning Clogged Ink Jets
Cleaning Solvent Soak If a manual cloth wipe fails to recover enough jets, you can soak
the thin foam pad that ships with the printer with SolaChrome-
HR cleaning fluid, then cap the printheads with this pad over-
night as shown (Fig. 5-4 on page 5-10).
DO NOT USE ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL ON THE PRINTHEADS.
From the menu, select Maintenance - Printhead Procedures -
Cleaning Solvent Soak. This process empties the printheads of
ink, fills them with cleaning solvent, and prompts you to cap
the heads. After several hours (overnight), uncap the printheads
and the process is reversed.
