Using standard setup utility (Windows)
It is possible to set up the Fast EtherNet from a PC running TCP/
IP or IPX/ SPX using the Standard Setup Utility for Windows
supplied with the Fast EtherNet.
Operating environment
A PC with Windows 98/95 or Windows NT Server4.0/
Workstation4.0, running TCP/IP or IPX/SPX (NetWare).
• Operation on any system other than the above cannot
be guaranteed.
• This utility cannot be used on a PC which cannot be
connected to the network with TCP/IP or IPX/SPX.
• This utility must be used on a PC which is located on
the same segment as the printer.
Setting up and using the utility
The following procedure uses Windows98 as an example. Please
have the “Fast EtherNet CD-ROM” ready.
1 Insert the “Fast EtherNet CDROM” into the PC’s CD-ROM
drive. The Setup Utility starts automatically.
If it does not start automatically, double-click [AUTO
RUN.EXE] in the [WINDOWS] folder on the CD-ROM.
