Printing From Macintosh
In order to print from Macintosh via an EtherTalk network, it is
necessary to set up the Fast EtherNet and the Macintosh.
To print from Macintosh, you need to have a
PostScript printer. If your printer does not include
PostScript, you cannot use it.
Confirming the configuration of your printer
If you use an EtherTalk network from Macintosh, it is not
necessary to change the Fast EtherNet settings.
The menu printing procedure varies depending on the
printer you use. See the User’s Manual supplied with your
printer for details.
For printers whose settings cannot be checked using menu
print, see “Checking the Configuration” under “Printing a
Test Page” in Chapter 1.
The following description uses OKIPAGE 8c as an example.
Print the menu of your printer to confirm the current settings.
1 Press ON-LINE to place the printer “Off-line”.
2 Hold down Print Menu for 2 seconds or more to select “Print
Menu”. Menu printing starts.
3 After the completion of menu printing, press ON-LINE to
place the printer on-line.

Check that the settings (in bold) are correct.
If “OKI HSP” of “HOST INTERFACE” in “Common”
is set at “DISABLE”, switch “OKI HSP” of “HOST
INTERFACE” in Level 1 Menu to “ENABLE”, referring
to the User’s Manual of the printer.
“Zone Name” and ”Object Name” in “EtherTalk
status” vary depending on the user environment.(See
