VCS Port Reference
The VCS uses different ports and protocols for different services and functions, and many of these are congurable.
The table below shows all the ports on the VCS that are used for each of these services and functions. It shows the default port(s)
and protocol used, and if the ports are congurable it shows the available range and how to congure them via the web UI or CLI.
Overview
Service/Function Description Default Available Range Congurable via
SSH and FindMe
replication for Clusters
for encrypted command line administration. Also
used to replicate FindMe data if the VCS is part
of a cluster with FindMe enabled.
22 TCP not congurable
Telnet used for unencrypted command line
administration
23 TCP not congurable
HTTP used for unencrypted Web administration 80 TCP not congurable
SNMP used for network management 161 UDP not congurable
NTP used for updating the system time (and
important for H.235 security)
123 UDP not congurable
Reserved for future use 389
HTTPS used for encrypted Web administration. Also
used to replicate FindMe data if the VCS is part
of a cluster with FindMe enabled.
443 TCP not congurable
Remote Logging used to send message to the remote syslog
server
514 UDP not congurable
Reserved for future use 636
Gatekeeper discovery Multicast Gatekeeper discovery 1718 UDP not congurable
H323 Registration and
Clustering
used to listen for inbound H.323 UDP
registrations. If the VCS is part of a cluster,
this port is also used for inbound and outbound
communication with Peers, even if H.323 is
disabled

VCS Ports
!
Two services or functions cannot share the same port
and protocol; if you attempt to change an existing port or
range and it conicts with another service, you will get a
warning message.
