DO NOT open or mutilate the batteries. Released
electrolyte is harmful to the eyes and skin and could
also be toxic.
To be performed by Qualied Personnel Only:
Verify that the UPS is off and that the power is disconnected from the power source.1.
Remove watches, rings or other metal objects.2.
Use tools with insulated handles to prevent inadvertent shorts.3.
Wear rubber safety gloves and boots.4.
DO NOT place tools or any metal parts on top of batteries.5.
Determine if the battery is inadvertently grounded. If inadvertently grounded, remove source of 6.
ground.
Contact with any part of a grounded battery can result in
electrical shock.
The likelihood of shock will be reduced if such grounds are removed
prior to installation or maintenance.
