Receiving methods
Before using your machine to receive faxes, you need to set the mode according to how you
plan to use your machine.
•For receiving both faxes and voice calls: Select <FAX/TEL AUTO SW> ( p. 9-2).
•For receiving faxes only: Select <FAX ONLY MODE> ( p. 9-3).
•If you have subscribed to a DRP (Distinctive Ring Pattern) service offered by some
telephone companies: Select <DRPD> ( p. 9-5).
•For receiving mainly voice calls and sometimes faxes: Select <MANUAL MODE>
( p. 9-4) or <FAX/TEL AUTO SW> ( p. 9-2).
•For receiving faxes and voice messages on an answering machine: Select <ANS.
MACHINE MODE> ( p. 9-5).
•For receiving faxes directly to your computer: Refer to the Software Guide.
To check which receive mode is set, press [Fax]. The receive mode appears on the bottom left
of the LCD.
Ex:
Setting the receive mode
Follow this procedure to set the receive mode:
1 Press [Fax].
2 Press [Menu].
3 Press [Set].

4 Use [2] or [3] to select the receive mode:

5 Press [Set].
