Removing a Processor or a Terminator
Follow this procedure to remove a processor or a terminator.

48. Before removing the backplane you must remove the top cover
49. To remove a processor or a terminator perform the following steps:
• Press down on the black tab on the heat sink clip and release the heat sink clip.
NOTE: There is no heat sink on a terminator.
50. • Lift the heat sink clip off the heat sink.
51. • Lift the heat sink off the processor package.
52. • Grasp the lever on the side of the processor socket and press outward to disengage it from
the tab.
