Spinup Parameters: Sets the timing for spinning up the hard disk drives
attached to the controller. The options are: automatic, 2 per second, 4 per
second, or 6 per second.
Flex RAID PowerFail: Enable or disable Flex RAID PowerFail. When
enabled this option allows a drive reconstruction to continue after a power
failure.
Alarm Control: Enable, disable, or silence the onboard alarm.
Adapter BIOS: Enable or disable the BIOS on the controller.
Set Factory Defaults: Return the configuration of the controller to the
factory default settings.
Cache Flush Timings: This option sets the time between cache flushes.
A cache flush is when the data in the cache is flushed from the cache on
the adapter to the logical drive. More frequent cache flushes minimize the
potential for catastrophic data loss if a system loses power during a write
but it takes up more bandwidth on the SCSI bus.
Fast Initialization: When enabled the controller writes zeros to the first
sector of the logical drive during initialization so that initialization
completes more rapidly. When disabled the controller writes zeros across
all sectors of the logical drive during initialization.
Cluster Mode: Enables the controller to or disabled the controller from
participating in a cluster. When cluster mode is enabled the BIOS is
automatically disabled.
Auto Rebuild: There are two choices for this option, Enabled or
Disabled. When set to Enabled the adapter will automatically initiate a
rebuild operation when a new hard drive has been inserted after a failure
of an array (when the array level supports redundant information).
Class Emulation Mode: Select the mode of the controller, I2O mode or
mass storage mode.
Scan Devices
This is not a screen. It initiates a rescan of all devices connected to the
controller. Any changes to the status of the physical or logical drives will
be reflected in the WebBIOS interface. If a physical drive has failed the
words “Not Responding” displays to the right of the drive name under the
Physical Drives heading.
