You connected the printer to a
DSL wall jack. The printer can
only fax using an analog signal.
Install a DSL filter before connecting
your printer to the wall jack. For more

The printer could not connect to
the receiving fax machine.
Make sure the number you entered is
a working fax number.
Try your fax again later.

Memory Full. Try setting to
Scan After Dial
The broadcast fax job was too big
for the printer memory to hold
with the current settings.
Set the printer to Scan After Dial to
use less memory. For more
information, see Dialing and Sending
Menu.

Phone Line Error
The printer did not detect a dial
tone, or the call timed out before
you entered a number using on-
hook dialing.

The Auto Fax Conversion
option is off, and the receiving fax
machine does not support color or
the resolution of the fax you are
sending.
Turn Auto Fax Conversion on.
1. From the main menu, press the up
or down Arrow button
to
scroll to Fax, and then press the
Select button
.
2. Press the down Arrow button
to scroll to Fax Setup, and then
press the Select button
.
3. Press the up or down Arrow
button
to scroll to Dialing and
Sending, and then press the
Select button
.
4. Press the up or down Arrow
button
to scroll to Auto Fax
Conversion, and then press the left
or right Arrow button
