Epson 1000 Printer User Manual

With INDIVIDUAL mode, a separate area of memory is
defined for each channel. If you define more than two channels
with the INDIVIDUAL setting or if you use one of the optional
identity cards with either mode, you have to add more
memory. See Chapter 5, “Options,” in this manual for
information on adding memory.
AUTOSENSE is less complicated and requires less total
memory, but in the unlikely event that files sent from two
different computers at the same time interfere with each other,
try the INDIVIDUAL setting.

Assigning memory in /ND/V/DUAL mode
If you select INDIVIDUAL, the next step is assigning memory
to each channel. Any channel using the LJ-2P, 3/P/Si, LQ, FX,
or GL/2 printer emulation requires at least 0.5MB of memory,
and any channel using the PostScript or Epson GL identity card
requires at least 1.5MB. (Add the requirements of all three
channels together to determine the minimum total memory
required. If you need to add memory, see “The Memory Chip
Sets,” in Chapter 5.)
