Certain governments require that instructions pertaining to modem connection to the public
switched telephone network be included in the installation and operation manual. Specific
instructions are listed in the following sections.
Note that 3810Plus, 3811Plus, and 3820Plus are the model names for the model numbers 3980,
3981, and 3982, respectively. The modems collectively are called 3800Plus
modems.

Notice to Users of the Public Switched Telephone Network
1. This
equipment complies with Part 68 of the FCC rules. On the equipment is a label that contains,
among other information, the FCC registration number and ringer equivalence number (REN) for
this equipment. The label is located on the bottom of the Model 3810Plus and 3820Plus
modems
and on the circuit card assembly of the Model 381
1Plus. If requested, this information must be
provided to the telephone company.
