Refill Problems
Display Shows

the Modem Refill

The control centre is designed to display the progress of the refill. If there
is a problem during the refill, a message is displayed. Write down the
message and call for service if you cannot correct the problem by following
the directions on the screen.

Control Centre not Connected to Analog Phone Line
Make sure you've connected your control centre to a working analog phone
line. Also make sure the phone line connectors are firmly seated in their
receptacles.
One or more of the refill setup options may be wrong. Go to the refill setup
instructions as noted and check the following:
• Does your phone system require you to dial a prefix number to get an
outside phone line? Make sure to include these in the setup if needed.
See Setting up the Phone Connection (Entering the Dial Prefix) in
Chapter 4.
• Is the dial method correct? You have to tell the Control Centre if your
phone uses a pulse or tone for dialing. See
Choosing the Dial Method
section in Chapter 4.
Refill Failed,
Invalid Account
Number
The Postage By Phone
®
account number you entered is not correct. Check
the Welcome Kit that came with your Control Centre for your Postage By
Phone
®
Account Number and reenter it if necessary. Refer to the Enter Your
Postage By Phone
®
Account Number section in Chapter 4.
