Configuring Port Alarm Thresholds
You can configure the switch to generate alarms for selected events. Configuring
an alarm involves choosing an event type, rising and falling triggers, a sample
window, and finally enabling or disabling the alarm. You can configure port alarm
thresholds for the following port events using the Enterprise Fabric Suite 2007 or
the command line interface:
CRC errors
Decode errors
ISL connections
Device logins
Device logouts
Loss-of-signal errors
To configure port threshold alarms using Enterprise Fabric Suite 2007, open the
Switch menu in the faceplate display, and select Port Threshold Alarm
Configuration. The Port Threshold Alarm Configuration dialog shown in
prompts you to enable or disable all alarms, select an event, set triggers, set a
sample window and enable or disable an individual alarm. Refer to the Switch
Management User’s Guide for your switch for more information about port
threshold alarms.
To configure port threshold alarms using the command line interface, use the Set
Config Threshold command. Refer to the Installation Guide for your switch for
more information about the command line interface and the Set Config command.
