intheSmartBayandconfiguresyourcomputeraccordingly.
Ifthecabledoesnotfiteasily,donotforceit.
Makesureyouhavethecorrectendofthecable
goingtothecomputerandtotheexternal
module.
Toremovethecable:
1. Loosenthethumbscrews
2. Pullthecableconnectorsawayfromtheexternalmoduleand
thecomputer.
UsingtheSmartBayUtility
IfyourcomputershippedwithWindows98,youcanusetheSmartBay
utilitytohot-swapyourexternalmodules.
ToopentheSmartBayutility
1. ClicktheStartbuttonontheWindowstaskbar.
2. SelectSmartBayHotswapUtility.
Toremoveanexternalmodule:
1. OpentheSmartBayHotswapUtility.
2. SelectRemoveDeviceandclickOk.
3. ClickYesontheconfimationscreen
4. Removetheexternalmodulebyeitherdisconnectingthecable
fromthecomputerorfromtheexternalmodule.
