Connecting to a single computer
Follow these steps if you are connecting the printer directly to your
computer via LocalTalk:
1.
Make sure that the printer is turned off before making any
LocalTalk connections.
2.
Connect the short cable of a LocalTalk connector to your
computerÕs LocalTalk port.
3.
Connect the short cable of a second LocalTalk connector to the
printerÕs LocalTalk port.
4.
Connect a LocalTalk cable between the two LocalTalk connectors
you have just attached to your computer and your printer.
Note
If your LocalTalk connectors require an external terminator (see the
illustration on the previous page), make sure that the last device on either
side of the network has a terminator inserted into its LocalTalk connector.
If you have no other connections to make, read ahead to ÒTurning on the
printerÓ on page 2-19.
