Frames are delivered to an Ethernet port by bridge and management
applications. However, a frame may be discarded for the following reasons:
■ The Ethernet port is disabled.
■ There is no room on the transmit queue.
■ An error occurred during frame transmission.
Figure 7-2 shows the order in which these discard tests are made.
