Installing paper holder plates
Variations in quality and use conditions can cause
the edges of the paper to curl, resulting in damage
to the paper by the print head surface. To prevent
this, use the paper holder plates to reduce the
amount of curling in the paper.
Follow the procedure below to install the paper
holder plates.
A
Display SIDE MARGIN in the Printer Setup
menu on the LCD panel.
B
Set up the margins (side margins) to 10 mm
while printing.
C
Load the roll paper.
D
Set the paper holder plates by sliding them
from both sides of the platen.
E
After installing the paper holder plates,
make sure that they do not interfere with
the paper as it is fed through the printer.
F
If the paper holder plates are not used,
return the plates to their initial positions.
Note:
Do not use the paper holder plates for paper
whose thickness is 400 µm (0.4 mm) or thicker.
The paper holder plate may interfere with the
print head.
c
Caution:
If a paper jams when using the paper
holder plates, the plates may be deformed.
When the paper holder plates are
deformed, stop using the printer and do
not remove the clogged paper by force.
Using the printer with deformed paper
plates may damage the grid roller or print
heads. Contact your local Epson dealer.
Note:
If there is interference with the paper as it is fed
through the printer after the paper holder plates
have been installed, stop using the paper holder
plates.
