ML1600 SOFTWARE UPDATES CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Z Select the switch to upgrade.
Ensure you have system administration privileges available on the
switch.
Z Open a EnerVista Secure Web Management software session with
the switch by typing in the following URL:
https://<IPaddress of the switch>
Z If using FTP, save the configuration before proceeding.
GE Multilin recommends a two-step update:
• save the configuration to the ftp server
• load the new image and restart the switch (refer to Saving
Configuration on page 5–19 for details on saving the
configuration).
Z Load the new software as shown below.
As the file is being loaded, the software will display the transfer in progress window.
Z Reboot the switch when the transfer is complete.
After reboot, the software is ready for use.
Z If using TFTP, save the configuration before proceeding.
GE Multilin recommends a two-step update:
• Save the configuration to the TFTP server.
• Load the new image and restart the switch (refer to Saving
Configuration on page 5–19 for details on saving the
configuration).
