Defining Printers to InfoPrint Manager
To configure a printer with the IPDS feature as a PSF TCP/IP-attached
physical printer:
1. In the InfoPrint GUI, open a physical printers well or a window with a
physical printers pane.
2. Select the Physical Printer Template Type icon from the Types
column of the Templates area. If you do not see a template for PSF
TCP/IP-attached physical printers, select the Preferences button at
the bottom of the window to change the template types that the GUI
displays.
3. Drag and drop a PSF TCP/IP-attached physical printer template into
the physical printers well or pane. This step displays the Add
Physical Printer dialog.
4. In the Model field, enter a model name (e.g. IBM6400).
5. Fill in the other fields as you prefer. For information about these
fields, see the GUI online help or the pd_att_phy_ptr man page.
6. Select the OK button.
InfoPrint closes the dialog and displays an icon representing the new
physical printer in the physical printers well or pane. No further
configuration is necessary; but if you wish, you can modify the
attributes of the new physical printer in the same way as any other
physical printer.
7. If you plan to create similar physical printers for other network
printers, you can create a template by dragging the new physical
printer to the template area.
