Identifying other problems
Light lines or streaks appear on
the printed page.
Clean the LEDs. See page 126 for more information.
Make sure the affected print unit is completely installed in the printer.
Remove the affected print unit and gently shake it back-and-forth to distribute
the toner evenly. Reinsert the print unit and try printing the job again.
Replace the affected toner cartridge. See page 89.
Replace the photoconductors. If the problem only occurs when printing black,
you can replace just the black photoconductor. If the problem occurs when
printing one of the colors, replace all three of the color photoconductors. See
page 94 for more information.
The page is blank. Make sure the affected print unit is completely installed in the printer.
Replace the affected toner cartridge. See page 89.
Toner smears or rubs off the page. Make sure you’re using recommended paper or other media.
Make sure you have selected the correct Paper Type setting for the media you’re
using.
Make sure the top cover is completely closed and both sides are snapped shut.
You may need to replace the fuser. See page 98 for more information.
Toner adheres to the back of the
page.
Remove the fuser coating roll from under the printer’s rear cover, and wipe it
with a dry, lint-free cloth. See page 127 for more information.
