If only the data center devices utilize the PNNI protocol, call rerouting can be
accomplished using IISP with PNNI. Figure 4-4 illustrates this type of network,
with dual PNNI links connecting switches A and B and dual-homed IISP links
providing connectivity from edge switch 1 to switches A and B. The same is true
for the switch 3 connection to the data center. The IISP edge switch nodes
establish the least-cost data path, and the client-server data path can use either of
the direct data paths.
