Feature NetBIOS Frame Type Description
Name filters ADD_GROUP_NAME_QUERY This frame is used to verify that the
group name to be added is not
already used as a unique name
within the network. The sender’s
name is checked against the supplied
filter name.
ADD_NAME_QUERY This frame is used to verify that the
name to be added is not already used
as a unique name within the network.
The sender’s name is checked
against the supplied filter name.
NAME_QUERY This frame is used to request that a
remote node establish a session or to
locate a name on the network.
The recipient’s name is checked
against the supplied filter name.
DATAGRAM This frame is used to transmit user
data to one name in the network.
The destination name is the name of
the recipient. The recipient’s name is
checked against the supplied filter
name.
Name proxy NAME_QUERY This frame is used to request that a
remote node establish a session or to
locate a name in the network.
STATUS_QUERY This frame is used to request remote
adapter status.
DATAGRAM This frame is used to transmit user
data to one name in the network.
