Scenario 1
In the configuration illustrated in Figure 1-10, the switch agent is configured to
send and receive network management information on the secondary data
channel. All management requests and replies take place between IP address 2
and IP address 3 on subnet B.

If you are watching traffic on the out-of-band Ethernet port subnet B with a
network analyzer, you will see a request and the matching reply. No management
traffic will appear on the switch ports subnet A.
Scenario 2
In the configuration illustrated in Figure 1-11, the switch agent is configured to
send and receive network management information on the primary data channel.
The default gateway is IP address 4. All requests and replies between IP address 1
and IP address 3 are routed through subnet A.
