NetBIOS Name Proxy is composed of two parts: one learns NetBIOS station
names; the second looks up destination names in the NetBIOS Name Table and
switches to the appropriate ports. If the destination name is not found in the table,
queries are bridged according to the configured bridging mode.
Note:
NetBIOS names have to be learned before queries to those names are
proxied. Therefore, to test NetBIOS Name Proxy, a NAME_QUERY,
DATAGRAM, or STATUS_QUERY frame must be transmitted from the
NetBIOS station before any queries to that station are forwarded.
