Special consideration is required for enabling spanning tree on a port with a
dedicated end station attached to it. Enabling spanning tree on a port dedicated to
an end station client will delay network connectivity to that server if its interface is
restarted or reconnected to that port. The spanning tree algorithm takes about
30 seconds to go from the Blocked, Listening, Learning states to the Forwarding
state. When spanning tree is disabled for a port with a dedicated end station
attached, that port will not participate in the spanning tree algorithm and will be
placed immediately in the forwarding state.
