Putting the printer online or offline
Youcansend<XOFF>and<XON>controlcodes(describedinChapter2
under“SerialInterface”)toputyourprinterofflineandthenonlineagain.If
youareusingaparallelinterface,anydatayourcomputersendsafteryouput
the printerofflinewillnot be printed.
To puttheprinterofflinesendthiscontrolcode:
<XOFF>
(sometimesshownas <DC3>)
To-puttheprinterbackonline,eitherpress ONLINEon thefrontpanelor
sendthis command:
<X( IN>
(sometimesshownas <DC1>)
If the printeris alreadyonlinewhen you send the<XON>command,the
printerwillcancelanyincompletelineof print.
Reset
TheEX-800emulationresetcommandreturnstheprintertoitsdefaultinitial
parameters.Whenyousendthiscommandattheendofapnntjob theprinter
willresetitsparametersonlyafterpreviouscommandshavefinished.You
should,however,taketheprecautionofputtinga formfeedbeforethereset,
to makesureyouloseno printdata.
To resetthe StarLaserPrinter8, sendthiscommand:
