The importantdifferenceaboutmovingverticallyup or down is whatthe
printerdoeswhenthe printpositionhitsthepagetopor bottom.If youtry
to moveabovethetop margin,theprintpositionstaysrightat the margin.
Andif youmovetheprintpositiondownoffthepage,thepageisejectedand
printingcontinueson the nextpage.
Vertical moves: by lines, decipoints and dots
To movethe print positionverticallya certainnumberof lines,send the
command:
<ESC>&a n R
in which for n you enterthe numberof lines you wish to move the print
position.Sotomoveto line45,measuredfromthctopedgcofthe page,you
sendthe command:
<ESC>&a45R
Butto move45 linesdownfromthecurrentprintposition,yousend:
<ESC>&a+45C
Tomovetheprintpositionverticallyacertainnumbcrofdecipoints,sendthe
command:
<ESC>&a n V
inwhichfornyouenterthenumberofdccipointsyouwishtomovetheprint
positiondown(orprecedethenumberwitha+or– signifyouwanttomove
up or downfromthe currentposition).
Finally,youcanmoveanumberofdotsdownfromthetopedgeofthepage,
oryoucanmoveanumberofdotsupordownfromthecurrentprintposition.
Tomovetheprintpositionupordownanabsoluteorrelativenumberofdots,
sendthe command:
<ESC>*pn Y
inwhichfornyouputeithcrtheabsolutenumberofdotsdown,or(preccdcd
by a + or sign)the relativenumberof dotsup or down fromthecurrent
position.
So to move20 dotsdownyousendthecommand:
<ESC>*p 20Y
