Star LaserPrinter8. The ChangeEmulationsupersetcommandlets you
switchfromone setof printercommandsto another“on the fly,”through
software.
ThisisthecommandthatdefineswhatothercommandstheStarLaserPrinter
8will accept.WithChangeEmulationyouindicatewhichprinteremulation
programyouwanttheprinterto use.
Whenyoustarta newemulationyou alwaysstarta newpage.
Note:alwayssendCarriageReturnandFormFeed(controlcodes<CR>and
<FF>)justbeforeyougivethisChangeEmulationcommand.Theseforce
theprintertoprintanypartialpagein itsmemoryandstarta newpagewith
thenewemulation.If youforgetto issuethesecontrolcodesfirstthe Star
LascrPrinter8willdothemforyou—butyourChangeEmulationcommand
willjust resettheprinter’sparametersto theirinitialdefaults,andnotgive
youthe emulationyou ask for.
