prefcmmce.WhenyoufirststartEX-800emulationyourprintersctsthepage
lengthto 11inchesand66 lines.
The dctinitionof a “line” dependson the lines-per-inchspacing.If you
changeline spacingafter you set the page length,the page lengthwon’t
change.AndifyouprintpagesactuallyIongerthantheinstalledpapcrtray,
the StarLascrPnntcr8 willprintthemon two sheetseach.
To seta differentpagelengthin lines,enterthiscommand:
<ESC>C n
For n youenterthenumberof linesyou wanton a page(maximum127).
To seta d-iffcrcntpagelcnglh in inches,enterthiscommand:
<ESC>C <NUL>n
Fornyouenterthenumberofinchesinlengthyouwantthepage(maximum
22).
Note: theprintpositionatthemomentyousetpagelengthwillbeyourncw
top-of-page.Whenyouchangepagelengththe Star LascrPrinter8
putsthebottommarginbackto itsdefaultvalue,so youmaywantto
resetit.
Top and bottom margins
TheEX-800cmulationprovidesfortopandbottommarginsinauniqueway,
combiningthe top-of-page(as set by page length) with the Skip-Over-
Perforationcommand.(Rcmemberthatthedot-matrixEX-800printeruses
continuousforms,whicharcjoined withperforations.)
By settingthe Skip-Over-Perforationyoucan controlthe numberof lines
skippedatthebottomofonepageand,ifyouwant,atthetopofthenext.First
makesuretheprintpositionis on thelineyouwantto be yourtopmargin,
andsetyourpagelength.ThensendthisSkip-Over-Perforationcommand:

in whichn is anynumberof linesbetween1and 127.
