Control Panel
Display screen
The control panel’s display screen:
Provides access to a hierarchy of menus to configure and control the printer. Access
the menus by pressing the
Menu
keys (labeled
1
or
5
). For more information on the
menu structure, refer to page 7.
Displays information about the status of the printer (or the job in process):
Examples:
The printer is online and ready to accept print jobs:
The printer is processing data:
The printer is low on a supply (in this case, the toner is low and needs to be
replaced soon):
A tray is empty (in this case, Tray 2 is empty and no longer being used to print):
There is a problem (in this case, a paper jam in area A):
Refer to the Messages section (starting on page 87) for a complete table of display
screen messages and what action you need to perform to solve the problem.
