About the High Capacity Feeder
About this Chapter
This chapter provides all of the information necessary to install, use, and maintain the high capacity
feeder, including procedures for cleaning the feeder and removing paper jams.
About the High Capacity Feeder
The High Capacity Feeder is an optional single-tray paper feeder that attaches under the printer.
The tray holds a maximum of 2,000 sheets of standard weight paper in either A4 or Letter size. The
printer supplies all of the operating power that is needed by the high capacity feeder. Motors and
circuit boards internal to the high capacity feeder provide the feeder with drive and operational
logic.
At the start of a print run the high capacity feeder motor switches on and begins to feed a sheet of
paper out of a selected tray. Rubber rollers drive the sheet out of the tray, through the high capacity
feeder, and into the printer. Sensors monitor the progress of the paper as it travels through the high
capacity feeder. The high capacity feeder can be installed with either the Printer, or the Printer and
one additional 500 Sheet Feeder (optional), as shown below.
