2 To talk with the remote terminal operator during a multi-page communication
If you are transmitting a fax:
1) Start the transmission. Wait for the Communicating indicator to light
2) Press Voice Request, then press Stop, Transmission will be Interrupted at the end of
the current page.
3) When your machine sounds a tone, pick up the handset, press Stop, and speak.
Note:
If your machine does not sound a tone, the remote operator did not come to
the phone Communication resumes and the voice request is automatically
repeated at the end of transmission
4) To resume communication, ask the remote terminal operator to press Start
5) Press your Start key when you hear a high-pitched tone
6) Replace the handset when the Communicating indicator lights
If you are receiving a fax:
1) While the Communicating indicator is lit, press Voice Request, then press Stop. Trans-
mission will be interrupted at the end of the current page
2) When your machine sounds a tone, pick up the handset, press Stop, and speak
Note:
If your machine does not sound a tone, the remote terminal operator dld not
come to the phone. Reception will resume The voice request will be auto-
matically repeated at the end of reception.
3) After speaking, press Start.
4) Replace the handset when the Communicating indicator lights

During the keypad entry procedure for basic transmission, you can designate two destina-
tions. If the first choice of destination cannot be reached, the machine will send the
message to the alternate location. If the first destination is reached, the alternative will be
