8-12 G1 Mode
This unit is compatible with Group 1 terminals (i.e.,
North American six-minute terminals).
To make a G1 transmission:
1. Press the resolution key until the G1 Mode indicator lights.
2. Place the document in the ADF.
3. Select the contrast, then dial.
4. Either:
If someone answers the line, ask that person to press the Start key after talking. Press
Start yourself when you hear a high-pitched tone (the answer-back tone).
Or:
If you hear a high-pitched tone (the answer-back tone), press Start immediately.
Note:
If nobody answers the line or if there is no high-pitched tone, faxing is impossi-
ble.
5. Replace the handset when the Communicating indicator lights.
Note that the following features cannot be used with G1 Mode.
● Confidential Transmission
● Transfer Request
● Polling
. Voice Request
● Protection against wrong connections
. Detail resolution
● ECM
. RTI, TTI, and CSI
8-13 Document Stamping
If the stamp is enabled, it will make a pink circle at the bottom of the page if it was received
correctly at the other end. This will help you to check whether all pages of your document
were received. The stamp is enabled when the Stamp indicator is lit. Press the key below
