Mounting the product disc
You must have superuser (root) privileges to load the VCS software.
To mount the product disc

Log in as superuser on a system where you want to install VCS.
The system from which you install VCS need not be part of the cluster. The
systems must be in the same subnet.

Insert the product disc with the VCS software into a drive that is connected
to the system.
The disc is automatically mounted.

If the disc does not automatically mount, then enter:
# mount -o ro /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom

Navigate to the location of the RPMs.
Depending on the OS distribution, typethe following appropriate command:
# cd /mnt/cdrom/rhel5_ppc64/cluster_serverRHEL5
# cd /mnt/cdrom/sles10_ppc64/cluster_serverSLES 10
Performing automated pre-installation check
Before youbegin the installationof VCS software,you can checkthe readiness of
the systems where you plan to install VCS. The command to start the
pre-installation check is:
installvcs -precheck system1 system2 ...
You can also usethe VeritasInstallation Assessment Service utility for adetailed
assessment of your setup.
