Ventilation
ALWAYS ensure that the rack enclosure is adequately ventilated.
Sufficient airflow must be achieved (by convection or forced-air cooling) to satisfy the ventilation
requirements of all the items of equipment installed within the rack.
Connecting the Headend into the TVM-1600
To connect the Headend (TV Signals) into the TVM-1600;
1. Run the RF feed from the Headend into the TVM-1600 via the RF Input port at the rear of the
TVM-1600.
2. Ensure the cable is attached correctly.
3. Power on the Headend.
Connecting the TVM-1600 to the network
The TVM-1600 will need to be connected to the network to allow Hub Management using the TVM
Browser screens.
1. Connect a standard Ethernet cable to the TVM-1600's 10 BaseT port. See FIG. 3.
2. Connect the other end of the network cable to the appropriate location e.g. Network Hub, Patch
Panel, Dedicated PC, etc.
Connecting the IR blasters
The IR blasters are connected using an Endeleo TVM-IR04 (4 way IR Blaster adapter).
1. Connect the TVM-IR04 adapter to the rear of the TVM-1600 at the IR port. See FIG. 3.
2. Connect individual IR blasters to an appropriate connection on the IR adapter.
3. Run the individual IR blasters and place them on the IR sensors of the devices that they will be
controlling (e.g. DVD players, VCRs etc).
Powering on the TVM-1600
To power on the TVM-1600:
1. Ensure a standard PC mains lead has been connected to the 3 pin power connection and then
connected to a mains power source.
2. Flick the power switch down to its On (|) position.
Consult the Network Administrator for correct cabling from the TVM-1600 onto the
network. For remote connectivity the Firewall may have to be configured to open port
2008 for remote connectivity over UDP.
Be sure to use the correct type of wire for the port. Plugging the wrong type of wire
into a data or network port can cause damage to the port.
As a Class 1 appliance ensure the TVM-1600 is connected to a mains socket outlet
with a protective earthing connection.
