IR Learning and IR Device Control
Overview
The Endeleo Managed TV solution supports the learning of the Infrared (IR) control protocols of the end
display devices. For example it is possible from the TVM-1600 hardware to issue a remote IR request
and place the screen in standby, or switch to an alternative AV input.
These devices can be DVD players, VCRs or Cable / Satellite Receivers. For example it is possible from
an end point to issue a remote IR request and select the “Play” function on a remotely located DVD
player.
An IR01 IR Emitter Module is then connected to the TVM-RX03 and attached to the TV screen over its
IR sensor to accept IR commands from the TVM-RX03.
Important Notes About IR Learning
The IR learning is carried out at the TVM-1600.
Once learned, the IR protocol is stored on the receive unit (TVM-RX03). Care should
therefore be taken when moving receive units between different display devices.
Shield the TVM-1600 from other IR devices during the learning process.
Components Needed For IR Learning
When used in conjunction with the Endeleo Managed TV Server software these
events can be scheduled to occur at predetermined times / dates.
