Passthrough Mode (Inputs A – D)
Devices can also be placed into Passthrough Mode. Passthrough Mode allows an Endeleo TVM remote
control (or Sky remote control) to be used to control TV channels being viewed through the UDM Hub
or devices connected to the UDM Hub e.g. a DVD player.
The following steps must be taken if Passthrough Mode is to function correctly;
Device must be added to the system as an Input.
IR blaster (correct IR port) at the rear of the chassis must be connected to the device.
Device must be added to the system as a Device and be assigned its learned protocol.
Port must be configured for Passthrough Mode.
Configuring a Device for Passthrough Mode
The device needs to be added to the system as both an input and as a device.
1. Cable the device as an input coming into the rear of the chassis e.g. into Input A as for a normal
input.
2. Add the device as an input in the Inputs option.
3. Learn the device’s protocol using IR Learning – refer to the Protocols section and Advanced
Administration section of this manual.
4. Add the device into the Devices option as normal and assign it its IR protocol.
5. The device has now been added as an Input (and as a device).
Configuring a Port for Passthrough Mode
To configure a port to access a Device in Passthrough Mode;
1. Select the Status option.
2. Once the main Status screen is visible click on User Control for the correct port (FIG. 50).
3. Select the relevant Remote Control from the Remote Type, which will be used to put the device into
passthrough mode e.g. key 0 on the UDM-RX01 remote control will put the device into passthrough
mode.
4. Click on the Passthrough checkbox to the right of the key dedicated to putting the RX into
Passthrough Mode e.g. key 0 on the remote.
5. The device (Sky box, DVD Player) can now be controlled directly at the RX end.
A device e.g. a DVD player can be stopped, paused and started etc. using the TVM
remote control or a Sky plus remote control.
Ensure the relevant IR blaster port is cabled up to the device also e.g. if the device is
connected to Input A cable IR port 1 to the device, if Input B cable IR port 2 to the
device etc.
