Replacing the Toner Cartridge
The number of pages you can print with one toner cartridge
depends on the type of documents you usually receive or
copy. A toner cartridge will print about 1,875 pages/letter
size of standard business communications at a typical print
coverage of 4% (equivalent of CCITT No. 1 test chart). The
first toner cartridge installed in a new image drum unit will
have a decreased yield because the image drum unit itself has
to be filled.
If your MFP displays REPLACE TONER CART, replace the
toner cartridge with a new one. However, if the print density
is high enough, you can continue to use the toner cartridge
without replacing it until the print density becomes too low.
If the print density becomes low even before your MFP
displays REPLACE TONER CART, gently wipe the lens
surface of the LED array (see Step 8).
If the print density does not improve, replace the toner
cartridge. When your MFP’s display shows CHANGE DRUM,
replace the image drum unit.
!
Warning: Be careful when handling the toner cartridge.
Do not let toner spill on your clothing or other porous
materials. See the Safety section in “Setting Up Your
OKIOFFICE MFP.”
!
CAUTION: If you open the top cover, you will see a
label that reads: (CAUTION-HOT). This portion is
extremely hot–do not touch it under any circumstances.
1 Lift the top cover into an upright position.
