5–2 Interfaces
Overview
This chapter describes the host interfaces provided with the printer. The printer
interface is the point where the data line from the host computer plugs into the
printer. The interface processes all communications signals and data to and
from the host computer. Communication signals and data may be sent over
parallel or serial lines.
IMPORTANT
!
Only one interface can be used at a time, and it must be selected
via the configuration menu.
This chapter describes the interfaces provided with the printer.
Standard Host Interfaces:
• Centronics parallel
• IEEE 1284 parallel bidirectional
• High Speed Serial Port (RS–232/422)
Optional Host Interfaces:
• Coax / Twinax
• Dataproducts Long Lines
• Dataproducts parallel
• Ethernet 10Base T
• Ethernet 10Base 2
In addition to descriptions for the multi–line interfaces, this chapter also provides
instructions for configuration of terminating resistors for the parallel interfaces.
