When receptions are not performed normally, check the points in the table below. If
the facsimile will not operate correctly after confirming these points or anything not
listed here occurs, call your service representatives.
When you are to re-
ceive a document
and you press
nothing hap-
pens.
The recording paper
does not come out.
Problem Cause Solution
A document is still in your
facsimile.
The modular cord (tele-
phone line cable) is dis-
connected.
There is no power to the
unit.
There is no recording pa-
per.
The top cover is not closed
fully.
(If the handset is installed
and after talking with the
remote party through the
handset) the handset is re-
turned before pressing

Something is wrong with
the sending machine.

to remove the

Firmly connect the modular

the sending side is of poor
quality.
The sending unit requires

cleaning.
The remote party loaded
the document face up.
The recording paper tray is
not firmly closed.
Something is wrong with
the recording paper itself.
Check the paper installation,
and make sure it is correct.
Ask the sending party if the
document contents are clear
enough.
Ask the sending party to make
a copy of the same document
using their facsimile. If the qual-
ity is poor, the problem is in the
sending party’s unit.
If a copy is made on your fac-
simile and the quality is poor,
clean the recording unit.
Request the remote party to
make sure that document is
loaded correctly.
Check the tray.
Use recording paper with the
desired specifications.
