NOTE: DIMMs do not need to be installed in pairs, and can be installed in any of the available
DIMM sockets. The DIMM sockets are numbered in sequence from 1-4. DIMM 1 is located closest
to the processor, and DIMM 4 is located closest to the edge of the system board.
Important Guidelines for DIMM Installation
When installing DIMMs, you MUST follow these guidelines:
Use only 32-, 64-, 128-, 256-MB Registered 100-MHz Error Checking and Correcting
(ECC) SDRAM DIMMs.
DIMMs must have a 4-KHz refresh rate.
DO NOT INSTALL DIMMS THAT DO NOT SUPPORT ERROR CHECKING
AND CORRECTING (ECC).
A DIMM can be installed one way only. Be sure to match the two key slots on the DIMM
with the tab on the DIMM socket. Push the DIMM down into the DIMM socket, ensuring
that it is fully inserted and properly seated.
When upgrading, do not exceed 1 GB total. Upgrades exceeding 1 GB will cause the
system to halt.
