Method
If you set up Dynamic DNS (see Set Up and Manage Dynamic DNS on page 193),
you can also type a URL domain name. For example, if your domain name is MyName
and you use the NETGEAR DDNS server, you can type
ftp://MyName.mynetgear.com to access the USB device over the Internet and
download or upload files.
10. Click the Apply button.
Your settings are saved.
Enable FTP Access Within Your Network
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) lets you download (receive) and upload (send) large files faster.
For information about using FTP to access a storage device over the Internet, see
Manage Dynamic DNS and Access Storage Devices Through the Internet on page
193.
Note
To enable FTP access within your network:
1. Launch an Internet browser from a computer or WiFi device that is connected to the network.
2. Type http://www.routerlogin.net.
A login window opens.
3. Enter the user name and password for the modem router.
The user name is admin. The default password is password. The user name and password are
case-sensitive.
4. Click the OK button.
The BASIC Home page displays.
5. Select BASIC > ReadySHARE.
The USB Storage (Basic Settings) page displays. By default, the Basic radio button is selected.
6. Click the Edit button.
