Basic Operation
Adjusting Copy Image Density
Image density affects the contrast of copies. With these functions you can control the image density so that
copies match originals. Make the selection you require then set your originals and press the Start key.
Auto image density
The machine automatically controls the image density.
Note
Auto Image Density and Auto Color Select cannot be set together.

If Auto Color Select mode is selected, select
other color modes to cancel it. See page 40.

Press the [Auto Image Density] key.
Manual image density
If you require darker or lighter copies, adjust the image density yourself.

If [Auto Image Density] key is selected, press
it to cancel it.

Press the desired color density level.
Combined auto and manual image density
Use when copying originals with a dirty background (such as newspapers). You can adjust the foreground
density while masking out the dark background.
