Replacing Toner Cartridge
Replace a toner cartridge whenever
the following messages appear on the
panel display.

Before removing a toner cartridge
from the printer, spread paper or
some other material around the
area you are working to keep toner
from making floor dirty.
❒
In the “Low on:xxx” message,
“xxx” refers to which cartridge
needs replacing:
•C: cyan
•M: magenta
• Y: yellow
• K: black

When several toner colors run out
at the same time, a message ap-
pears on the operation panel. Re-
place them in the following order:

Black
B
Yellow
C
Cyan
D
Magenta

If you do not have all the required
replacement cartridges, you can
choose which ones you want to re-
place. ⇒ P.71 “Replacing Toner Car-
tridge”

Open the left cover.

Slide the lock lever up.
C
Carefully pull out the toner car-
tridge.

Holding the toner cartridge
grip, slide it out until you can
see the green tape.
•
Do not incinerate spilled toner
or used toner. Toner dust
might ignite when exposed to
an open flame.
•
Disposal can take place at our
authorized dealer or at appro-
priate collection sites.
•
If you dispose of the used ton-
er containers yourself, dis-
pose of them according to
your local regulations.
