Table 7-6 Problems Using the Floppy Disk Drive
Problem Solution
The floppy drive does not
respond to commands.
Re-enter the commands and make sure you have
typed them correctly.
Make sure you specified the device file
/dev/floppy/c0t1d0
for commands that require a device file name.
Make sure the write-protect tab is set to write if
you are trying to copy data to a floppy diskette.
Follow the instructions in the section “Running
System Verification Tests” later in this chapter to
verify that the floppy disk drive is functioning
properly.
Make sure cables (power, data, etc.) are
connected.
If problems persist, contact your system administrator or call your designated
service representative.
